Necklaces
"Keum boo" is an ancient Korean process of bonding 24 kt gold foil to sterling or fine silver. I use a 700-degree hot plate and an agate or metal burnisher to bond the gold to the piece of jewelry.
The stones I set into my jewelry are man-made stones. Because the precious metal clay jewelry is fired at a very high temperature (1110 to 1470 degrees), synthetic stones remain colorfast when they are fired.
Many of my newest beaded necklace designs incorporate center pieces from Philadelphia art jewelry makers Steve Ford and David Forlano.
